Novice/Intermediate Watercolor

Service Description

Tuesdays, February 4, 11, 18 & 25 9 - 11 AM $40 This class is for people who have had some experience in watercolor painting and want to improve. In this class you will learn composition tips, how light and shadow add drama, and warm/cool color schemes to make your work dance. Also brush work and watercolor mark making will be explored. Each week, watercolor painter Ellen Santoni will offer one or two techniques with practice activities. This way you can grow your repertoire of skills and increase your joy in the magical process of painting with watercolors. Ellen Santoni has been making art for as long as she can remember. She has a BFA in illustration. After college she had a 42-year career in marketing and advertising. Five years ago, she moved to Whidbey Island and restarted her journey with art. Watercolor is her chosen medium and her only medium. She says: “I love the unpredictability, the way the colors mix and blur, and the fluidity of the process. Ellen is a member of Whidbey Island Sketchers and Bellingham Sketchers, and she takes classes at Create Space and with local artists.
