Suggested donation: $5-$10 per class day if you are able (donations go to our future teachers fund which will allow us to offer classes after our current grant runs out)

Increase your drawing and sketching ability in this class for beginners and novices who want to get back into it. Through a series of exercises, we will explore our perceptions by learning about gesture, composition, the dynamics of chiaroscuro (light and shade), the excitement of empty space, the Golden Mean, using a grid to enlarge and reduce plus more. As you start to hone your ‘seeing’ and come to understand some basic principles and tools, you will quickly become excited by your increased ability to draw. Dorit is a warm and supportive teacher who is sure to make you feel comfortable taking creative risks.

Dorit Zingarelli has sketched and drawn, painted and sculpted all her adult life. Gleaning and gathering tools from various teachers over the years, including Emily Carr College of Art and Design, she has created artworks and designs for theaters, commercial displays, private commissions, illustrations for publications, posters, logos, interiors, landscapes and galleries.
