This is a drawing workshop both for beginners and for those who would like some guidance as they move on to a more intermediate drawing practice. Beginners will be introduced to basic drawing materials and approaches. For those continuing on from basic drawing this will be a workshop setting where the participants will build on their skills with new techniques while working on their own projects with support and suggestions from the instructor.
Sarah Halpern has worked as a designer all of her adult life, creating designs for museums, toy companies and theme parks. She earned her BFA from the University of Washington and her MFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In addition to working as a designer she has taught Design and Technical Illustration at college level and worked for many years as an Artist In Residence at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. She recently returned “home” to the Pacific Northwest and has been participating in local figure drawing workshops here on Whidbey Island. She is very excited to be part of Create Space Langley.
